Below is a copy of a letter sent to Envision from the IT manager of a large Metropolitan Borough Council after they had a major hardware failure with one of their e-mail servers one weekend. In this instance a member of Envision was called out at 5pm on a Sunday afternoon, and worked through the night to resolve this problem.
Dear Paul,
I am writing to express the gratitude, both personally and professionally, for the time, effort and expertise you devoted to ****** ITD this weekend. It is right to say that without your contribution the recovery would not have been achievable and as such we would have been faced with some very disgruntled, high ranking, customers come Monday morning.
The efforts put in by you and the staff at ****** have been recognized at the very highest level within ******, i.e. Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Finance & IST. This clearly is a very good 'plus' for Envision Technologies and clearly demonstrates how we work together as partners, not just customer and supplier.
I know that this letter won't compensate for your family's disruption this weekend but I hope it will demonstrate how much ****** appreciate the timely intervention of you, and Envision, that helped turn a potential disaster into a success.
